Handcrafted upholstery
All the bedroom upholstered furniture are handmade and handcrafted in the USA in the bench made style (not on a conveyer belt production line).  Rather than carrying large inventories of product like many companies, our designs are made to order so there is almost no waste thus minimizing our environmental impact.

FSC Certified Hardwood Frame
We start our process in our own wood shop using FSC certified northern hard wood which has been kiln-dried to prevent splitting, warping and cracking before being custom-sized for each frame.  Frames are constructed using water-based glue, screws, and industrial staples. Corner blocks re-enforce the joints so they will not loosen over time.  All frame edges and arms are then carefully padded with high-density foam.  We use water-based glues which emit far less VOC's (Volatile Organic compounds) than their conventional solvent based counterparts.  An adhesive that offers low to zero VOCs will be less toxic, less odorous, and less flammable.

FSC Certified Alder Legs
FSC alder wood legs are standard for all of our upholstered products.  All of our stains and finishes are free of solvents and contain no biocides or preservatives, only aliphatic low-odor mineral spirits for less toxic results. Made with polyx oil, they’re engineered with plant oils and waxes.

Recycled Steel Springs
Made from recycled steel, No-Sag springs are standard on our frames. This is a unified system that moves as one.  Also known as sinuous springs or S shaped, these springs are heat-tempered and made from heavy gauge recycled steel.  They are affixed to the frame under the seat cushions from front to back with heavy steel clips.
