The blade measures 4/8 - rounded French point.
On the front shank it says: Richard Abr. Herder - Solingen - Germany #16
The bottom part of the shank has ribbed jimps.
Richard Abr. Herder is an old line Solingen firm that has been around since 1727. They made quite a few bayonets, daggers and knives during WWI and WWII and are originally known as a manufacturer of tools and cutlery.
