JOHN C JOCKHILL'S - CELEBRATED RAZOR - SHEFFIELD - NEAR WEDGE - 11/16
This is very nice vintage razor from Sheffield.
The custom made scales are made of acrylic with a faux snake pattern.
The blade is extremely shiny, clean with no rust, cracks, chips or disturbing stains.
No real hone wear to speak of.
Blade has been cleaned and polished.
The blade measures 11/16 - half round point.
On the front shank it says: John C Jockhill's - Celebrated Razor - Sheffield
On the blade it used to say: Robi J.W. Bloom - Jeweller - Next to Empire - Sunderland
Blade's engraving is still faintly visible.
Blade centers nicely.
Width: 11/16
Grind: near wedge
Total weight: 1.9 Oz
Total cutting edge: 2.60 inches
Extremely nice condition and example of a John C Jockhill's.
This razor dates from before 1890 since from 1890 the word 'England' had to be added to the inscription on the tang. I believe this one to be from around 1850-1880.
