RAN-TAN-KA-RUS ‘RED DEVIL’ - JOH. ENGSTRÖM - 5/8 - 1/2 HOLLOW
This is a sweet looking vintage straight razor made in Sweden from Joh. Engström that's at least over a 100 years old.
Swedish steel is known to be one of the best steel in the world. They make for excellent razors.
The custom made scales are made of Bolivian Rosewood with a tapered maple wedge.
The blade has been cleaned and satin finished but some remaining residual surface stains are still present. This doesn't affect the shave in any way as the edge is extremely clean.
Blade has no real hone wear to speak off.

On the front shank it says: Ran-tan-Ka-Rus ‘Red Devil’
On the back it says: Joh. Engström - made in Sweden
Tang inscription is still fully visibly and readable.
Bottom of tang has jimps.
Blade opens, closes, centers nicely and sits snug between the scales
