This is a gorgeous looking vintage collectors razor.
The custom made scales are made of faux tortoise w/transparent spacer/wedge.
The blade is very shiny, clean with no rust, cracks or chips.
Just some barely noticeable residual stains and pits on the blade and a few gathered residual micro pits on top of the spine near the toe side.
Blade holds no hone wear to speak off ands centers perfect.
Beautiful looking smiling edge.
Blade has been cleaned and polished.
The blade measures 6/8 - barber's notch
On the front shank it says: Wade & Butcher Sheffield
Extremely nice example of a Wade & Butcher.

Successor to Robert Wade; succeeded by Butcher, Brown & Butcher Sheffield - 1818-1890.
This razor dates from before 1890 since from 1890 the word 'England' had to be added to the inscription on the tang. I believe this one to be from around 1850.
